Our Mission

HOME’s mission is to create housing security for aging Austin area musicians. We were founded by a group of women in Austin, Texas, determined to provide stability and support for the aging musicians who shaped our city’s legendary music scene. Too many of these artists spent their lives without a financial safety net, and as they age, the fall from the tightrope becomes increasingly perilous. HOME exists to catch them.

HOME hosts multiple annual benefit concerts each year - of course, we want you to attend these events, so you can become involved with HOME on multiple levels. Donations are always needed, but your time and talent are also important.

MAKE A donaTION

HOME is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing stability for the artists who built our music scene. Your gift helps keep musicians housed and supported through long-term assistance and emergency grants when crises arise. Together, we can ensure they’re never without a safety net.

Sustaining Austin’s music legacy, one musician at a time.

HOME exists because of people like you - people who believe that the music, stories, and lives of Austin’s musicians deserve a home. Our Backline Sustaining Donors are the essential, unseen support behind every note, every show, and every life we touch.

When you join the Backline, your gift ensures that aging musicians can stay in their homes, access critical resources, and continue sharing their music with our city. It also helps us create a vibrant new HOME office - a place to meet, collaborate, and celebrate our community.

Every dollar counts. From funding vital programs and services, to covering utilities, supporting our social work team, and keeping our outreach efforts running, your ongoing support keeps Austin’s music alive. Become part of the Backline today and be the foundation that allows our musicians and programs to thrive.
